It was Halloween night for the rest, time for scary costumes and Trick or Treats, but for me it was an amazing food night at Tapella Restaurant with their 14 new dishes from Executive Chef Alexandra Cacho. Tapella Restaurant is one of those rare places in Metro Manila that serves authentic Spanish cuisines with a constant food innovation to keep their menus delectable and interesting that you’d want to come back for more.
Having a chef for an older brother, I am used to hearing about and talking about food. It’s a topic I am interested in even though I am not that much of a cook. I love trying out new restaurants and dishes. I do enjoy shopping for food and learning about new products and ingredients in the market. So when Chef Xandra herself served and explained the dishes, I was all ears. She pointed out how she only uses the freshest and best ingredients here and abroad.
“New things are happening in Spain and I want to share it here. I only serve the best for my customers. I even bring some ingredients from my native land to my restaurants,” explained Chef Xandra, whom I find very friendly. Earlier that night she taught us how to make our own Sangrias. I am not much of a drinker but I really enjoyed that really exclusive opportunity to be taught by a top chef.
